We live our lives through storytelling and conversation, both of which happen within—at the same time they construct—cultures. I make my living studying and teaching about these matters at a very nice university, and this site is my effort to share stories and engage in conversations with people beyond the walls of that institution. There are, or will be, sections on writing and teaching, and a blog where I will observe and interpret communication, both interpersonal and media, going on around me. I hope to connect the work I love with people who may find it useful, both inside and outside of academia.
