Etta Worthington fell in love with telling stories in sixth grade when she wrote her first short story. She’s written in most every form, she says. She’s been a journalist for a daily newspaper; a freelance business writer. Not only has she published poetry and fiction—she also founded a literary magazine. A midlife crisis directed her back to what she wanted to do but had avoided—become a filmmaker.
She has directed short films, Circus Mom, Smoke, and Chicago Swingers, and has produced fictional narratives (the feature Jamie and Jessie are Not Together and the short Hatboxes). She is the producer and director of the sensual internet cooking show Foodgasm. 50 at 50 is her first feature-length documentary.
She also teaches in the film department at Columbia College Chicago.
